SSE Odyssey Arena is Northern Ireland's Premier Entertainment venue: it is home to the Belfast Giants (ice hockey team) and has been hosting world-class events for over 18 years.
The Odyssey has 1,500 on-site stalls, multiple car parks, and at peak event times operates on a first come first served basis. 26 brand new Jupiter peripherals, installed by our partner Electro Automation NI, allow the Arena to offer a flawless parking experience to all kinds of visitors, granting fast entry/exit flows and optimizing capacity.
The SSE Odyssey Arena's new Jupiter parking system has a plethora of new industry leading and innovative features. These features increase operational efficiencies, provide a frictionless parking experience for customers, and future-proofs their investment. Below is just a selection of them:
#1 Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR, aka LPR). The SSE Odyssey Arena ANPR is fully integrated into the web based JMS Back Office Platform. The SSE Odyssey Arena’s ANPR caters for staff, contract parkers and season ticket holders and much more, enabling a seamless user journey to all of them.
#2 JMS Back office platform. The revolutionary JMS tile-based platform not only enhances the businesses operations, and makes car parking control simple, but it also unlocks access to strategic operations data to the staff. JMS scheduled reporting feature enables specific system information and reports, to be automatically generated and emailed, to any email address, at any time and on any recurring date required. This enables critical data to be available 24/7, allowing decisions to be made, based on real-time information.
#3 Credit card acceptance at all exit lanes. This has numerous benefits for customers. It reduces queues at the pay stations on event nights, provides an additional payment points for visitors, and lets car park users and visitors who have forgot to pay for their ticket, to simply scan their ticket on the exit lane, and pay the outstanding balance using credit or debit card or Smart NFC Payments like Android, Google or Apple Pay. This removes the need for staff to get involved, improves the traffic flow exiting the car parks, and enhances the customer journey.
#4 JPass Parking APP – The SSE identified that our JPass mobile app would be the perfect addition to their current app, which caters for the purchasing of event tickets, merchandise, as well as food & beverage. JPass will be integrated into the existing SSE Odyssey Arena app, and will be customised with the SSE Odyssey Arena branding, providing their customers and visitors with a completely digital experience. This accompanied with the JPass app being fully integrated into the JMS platform, provides a customer journey which is ticketless, cashless and all controlled from the customers smart device.
#5 J4M Merchant Validation Solution - The SSE Odyssey Arena took advantage of the efficient validation solution J4M Merchant. J4M Merchant is used at a wealth of locations within the SSE Odyssey Arena and makes ticket validations simple. J4M Merchant massively reduces costs and opens up other areas within the business that may have been limited previously, due to physical validation units being required.
#6 Virtualization – The SSE Odyssey Arena saw the benefits of virtualizing their JMS Platform, which is a standard offering from Electro and HUB Parking. Electro Automation Ltd implemented this and now the JMS Platform is virtualized on the SSE Odyssey Arena servers, which allows flexibility with all users on the network being able to access the JMS platform providing they have access rights to the system.
#7 JMS Mobile Control APP – The SSE Odyssey Arena embraced the benefits of the JMS Mobile control app. The JMS Mobile Control app enables their staff to be completely mobile and have FULL control of the parking system from ANY smart device. This removes the need for staff to be fixed in a car park office. Staff can now issue lost tickets or validated tickets directly to any pay station, or exit lane, as well as catering for all other parking requirements, directly from their smart device using the JMS app. The SSE Odyssey Arena also have the existing CCTV cameras on site, along with the New Bullet Hole Cameras, which are installed in the devices, monitored from the JMS Platform and JMS app. This means staff can get a real-time view of any CCTV camera on site, all from the JMS app, with the simple touch of a button. This makes operations simple and has multiple benefits, along with removing the need for staff to operate two systems simultaneously.
