In agreement with the parking facility operator, they can offer partial or total discounts on parking rates.
Operators and merchants (shops) agree on a given quantity of validations, that merchants offer to customers as a special reward based on the time spent in the shop, or being a recurrent client.
Through the online validator (in LAN or RS485 network), the merchant staff validates (or acquires from a scanner) the user parking ticket, in order to grant him/her a predefined discount on the due fee. Subsequently, the parking system recognizes the discounted amount and, for each merchant, allows the issue of a detailed report of the amounts to be charged by the operator.
Alternatively or in addition, discount or validation tickets can be issued through an offline validator, and pair with the original parking ticket that the customer had retrieved at the entrance of the car park. Either way, the system immediately recognizes the discounted amount and the customer is entitled to leave the parking area with the advantage of a special fee (or complete discount). For each merchant, the system offers a detailed report of the validations over a given timeframe.
The solution works as an additional marketing tool for merchants, hence a competitive advantage: consumers are driven to discounts, promotions, rewards, and loyalty programs.
The possibility for merchants to access real-time reports on the validations gives more control on the loyalty programs, and offers insights into the clients’ habits. The same goes with operators, who are not only able to optimize the occupancy of the parking area and adapt to the peak times of the day and week, but also to extract and elaborate on advanced performance data – these allow informed decisions on the operations of the car park, and dynamic pricing.
